Wouldn’t it be nice to experience a soothing, relaxing, warm massage on your face and neck, while reducing fine lines and wrinkles at the same time? No pain or complications involved would make it even better – yes? We’re speaking of the Pellevé System; one of our featured methods of treatment here at San Tan Oral Surgery, in Gilbert, AZ. We’ve compiled some interesting facts about this new treatment to help you decide if it could be beneficial to you.
What Is the Pellevé System?
This medical treatment was approved by the FDA in 2009 and is one of the most revolutionary anti-aging treatment methods to hit the aesthetic market in recent years. It is non-invasive, yet remarkably effective, and is beneficial for all areas of the face and neck.
It is, however, only available through aestheticians. This treatment is most beneficial for tightening loose, sagging skin due to the natural aging process, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and plumping up the skin – all while improving your body’s natural production of collagen and elastin.
How Long Does Treatment Take?
This simple and affordable treatment usually only last about 45 minutes to an hour. The treatment time is considerably shorter than most other optional treatments since there are no incisions or anesthesia involved, as these can often be time-consuming.
In addition, because there is no pain, swelling, burning, anesthesia, or injections involved, there is minimal downtime. This means the client can return to their work or previous activities directly following treatment, as well as the ability to apply facial make-up right away.
How Does the System Work?
A special hand-held instrument is utilized to deliver a radio frequency pulse to the deepest layer of your skin, resulting in a warming sensation to the client, much akin to a deep-heated massage. However, this is not to the degree of a burning sensation and is not painful.
The transformation begins when this radio frequency pulse heats up the deepest layers of skin to approximately 145-150 degrees (F). The heat causes the collagen to contract, initiating the formation of new collagen and elastin, instantaneously creating a smoother appearance of the upper dermis of the skin. This is repeated for all areas of concern on the face and neck.
Smoother, tighter skin, with a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles can be seen instantaneously. It is especially beneficial for the hard-to-treat delicate eye areas, in addition to the upper lip lines, which are not ideal areas to treat if using many of the other aesthetic methods of treatment. Statistics reveal that 90% of clients experience significant benefit from the very first treatment, while 90% of those same clients still had a lasting effect six months later.
How Does It Differ From Other Aesthetic Treatments?
Unlike conventional CO2 and Fraxel Repair laser treatments, this treatment method requires no anesthesia because there is no pain or swelling involved. It also leaves no risk of scarring, as it does no damage to the top layer of skin. In addition the CO2 and Fraxel Repair laser treatments require several weeks of downtime for healing.
The CO2 and Fraxel Repair lasers actually burn away the epidermis and dermis, an ablative technique that induces a wound requiring time to heal. Pellevé can be just as beneficial for removing fine lines and wrinkles, however, the CO2 & Fraxel Repair lasers are the preferred method for improving both textural and photodamage coloration.
There are many different types and brands of injectable fillers which are FDA approved that are beneficial for filling in wrinkles and plumping up the skin, while also encouraging collagen production. Some of the more popular products include Juvéderm products, Belotero Balance, Restylane products, Radiesse, and Sculptra Aesthetic. Their results can vary, with some lasting up to two years or longer. Some are made up of substances which are naturally found in our bodies, while others are synthetic substances that are bio-degradable in our bodies.
These are but a few of the many choices. However, these injectable fillers do not come risk-free since you are dealing with a substance injected inside of your body. While most clients do fine with these injectable fillers, there are some who develop reactions to one or more of these substances. With the Pellevé System, you are not risking any type of reactions, as there is nothing being injected inside of your body.
What Areas Can Be Treated?
This treatment system can benefit all areas of the face and neck for fine lines and wrinkles, in addition to any loose, excessive, or sagging skin. It has even been used to improve the décolletage area, giving a slight lift to the bust area. It is often the preferred method of treatment for those delicate and hard-to-treat areas around the eyes and lips.
