Treatments
Innovative procedures that we offer include:
Expose and Bond
When teeth do not properly come through the jaw bone and gum tissue, it causes the tooth to become impacted. Canine teeth are the most common to become impacted, behind wisdom teeth. The canines are important teeth that effectively frame your smile, and are also essential for chewing. They become impacted in the platelet when they do not properly erupt in the mouth.
If left untreated, impacted teeth may cause damage to adjacent teeth, causing what is known as resorption. When this happens, the impacted tooth wears away at portions of surrounding healthy teeth, and is oftentimes unrepairable.
In order to correct an impacted tooth, a specialized method known as exposure and bonding is performed to uncover the impacted tooth and replace the gum tissue. The impacted tooth is uncovered, and bonding is performed using an orthodontic attachment, followed by replacing the gum tissue over the tooth. The attachment is designed to apply gentle coaxing of the tooth, which places it in the correct position through the use of a specialized gold chain.
In some cases, the tooth may need to be taken out to make room for teeth a patient would like to keep. In this type of procedure, the innovative Fotona laser is used.
Fotona Laser
The Fotona laser is an advanced system that is the perfect tool for soft-tissue treatments. This innovative dental laser offers effective dental treatments without the need for invasive scalpels or sutures. This revolutionary procedure is precise, pain-free, and bloodless. Fotona laser utilizes low energy, high frequency energy that allows for extremely precise control and fine ablation, as opposed to invasive incisions. With this cutting-edge laser surgery, treatment times and post-operative healing is much quicker, with improved results.
Frenectomy
The frena is the connective tissue that attaches one surface to another within the mouth. A Frenectomy is performed when the tissue prevents teeth from coming together, or prevents basic motions, such as sticking out your tongue, or infants from latching on.
This procedure is also performed using the cutting-edge Fotona laser system. This is a minor procedure that can be performed in about 15 minutes. The laser system offers painless treatments without incisions or stitches.
