Dental awareness month

Posted on 5/22/2023 by San Tan Oral Surgery
Dental awareness monthYour dental health is important for your overall well-being. At our practice, we undertake awareness and educational campaigns which ensure that our patients can achieve maximum dental health. You do not have to wait for your dental health to take a hit for you to visit our dental practice. Seeking immediate dental checkups and treatment is crucial for you to avoid dental health problems.

Our dentists are passionate and caring and will work tirelessly to ensure that you get to enjoy a bright smile and most importantly retain your optimal overall health. During this dental awareness month, we want to give you educational tips to maintain your prime oral health.

Brush and Floss Daily

You should continue with daily flossing and brushing of your teeth. Our dentist's advice is that you should brush at least two times every day, and floss daily, especially after meals. Flossing and brushing are the basic dental hygiene practices that are efficient in the removal of dental plaque. Dental plaque is formed when bacteria and food particles mix and form a sticky substance. Dental plaque leads to tooth decay and cavities. To avoid this, ensure that you do not skip flossing and brushing.

Eat Healthy

What you eat has a direct impact on your dental health. Sugary and acidic food have a direct negative effect on your gums and teeth and therefore you should reduce their intake. If it is a must to eat these foods, ensure that you rinse your mouth with water, and brush, and floss your teeth. In this way, you will avoid the problems associated with eating acidic and sugary foods and drinks. Eat fruits and vegetables since they have vitamins and minerals that can strengthen your gums and teeth.

Regular Dental Checkups

Regular dental visits will help you prevent the onset or progression of dental problems. Contact our offices for effective care which will maintain your prime dental health.

What our patients are saying about us

"Dr. Colson is amazing! She explained everything thoroughly without sounding condescending and gently but directly guides you through the whole procedure. She is excellent and super experienced. I got my wisdom teeth pulled (3 partially impacted and one simply extracted) and aside from asking too many questions under laughing gas before the general anesthesia knocked me out, I got no complications and have had essentially no pain at all." – Ana D.
